The Challenge

Temple University, renowned for its dedication to public health education, embarked on an ambitious multi-million-dollar development project—Temple University Paley Hall. One of the largest and most diverse colleges of Public Health (CPH) planned in the country, this project aims to solidify Temple’s pivotal role in redefining public health protection and promotion.

This significant investment targeted enhancing both functionality and aesthetics of the Temple campus. DDM was hired to be a key player in this development, tasked with a multifaceted scope encompassing the detailing, engineering, fabrication, and installation of numerous miscellaneous steel components. The complexity and size of the project demanded a seamless blend of advanced engineering, state-of-the-art design, and coordinated execution.

Specific challenges included coordinating with multiple stakeholders, ensuring precision in fabrication, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. DDM overcame these challenges through meticulous planning, innovative problem-solving, and close collaboration with all parties involved.

Our Approach

Understanding the immense scale and prestige tied to Temple University Paley Hall, DDM initiated a comprehensive plan focusing on precision, innovation, and collaboration. We embarked on detailed project management processes that included working closely with architects, general contractors, and various trades to ensure timely and exact project execution.

Our intricate approach included coordinating with Rycon Construction, the general contractor, to align project timelines with our drawings, fabrication, and installation schedules.

Partnering with steel detailers, engineers, and suppliers to achieve meticulous drawings and calculations.

Leveraging advanced technology and design solutions for cutting-edge construction, such as our signature Glass handrail system featuring Hollaender glass.

Ensuring sustainability and adherence to environmental standards by implementing eco-friendly practices and materials, reducing waste, and promoting energy efficiency throughout the fabrication and erection process.
